Release Announcement: Telegraf 1.20.4

A new maintenance release for Telegraf is available now.

This maintenance release of Telegraf includes the following improvements and linter fixes for plugins/inputs/[h-o] (Thank you Pawe?!).

Builds

  • Removed Modbus Input Plugin from the build on OpenBSD. The rid-x/serial library for the Modbus plugin does not build on OpenBSD and was causing issues.

Input plugin updates

  • Intel RDT Input
    • We corrected the time zone in this input plugin to use local time zone by default instead of UTC from metrics gathered from the pqos tool.
  • NVIDIA SMI Input
    • We correctly set the default paths for this plugin.
  • MySQL Input
    • This plugin now parses the column types of the server status.
  • Proxmox Input
    • We updated the VMStat schema to use a number for ID.
    • We implemented a small fix to properly parse JSON from Proxmox installs in versions greater than 7.0.

Output plugin updates

  • Loki Output
    • The plugin now includes the metric name as a label for improved query performance and metric filtering.

Dependencies

  • Update BurntSushi/toml from 0.3.1 to 0.4.1.
  • Update gosnmp module from 1.32 to 1.33.
  • Update go.opentelemetry.io/otel from v0.23.0 to v0.24.0.
